Postpartum Day Doula

The daylight hours bring a unique set of opportunities and challenges during the postpartum period. With my wealth of experience, I am dedicated to ensuring your daytime experience is filled with comfort, confidence, and moments of joy. As your Postpartum Day Doula, I am committed to creating a nurturing environment that facilitates your recovery and enhances the bond between you and your little one.

Day support can include:
 

• Lactation Counseling/Latch and Positioning Assistance

• Weight checks, weighted feedings, and growth chart plotting

• Newborn care so that you can rest or care for older siblings

• Assistance with siblings and easing into the arrival of the new family member

• Light housekeeping (baby laundry, loading and unloading the dishwasher, tidying up the nursery, emptying diaper pail, bottle/pump parts washing, restocking baby supplies in the nursery and diaper stations)

• Light meal prep for the mom

• Nursery Organization

• Dog Walking

• Errand running and grocery shopping ($0.67 per mile reimbursement will apply)

• Postpartum recovery support for the birthing parent: preparing padsicles, Sitz bath, Yoni vaginal steaming, etc

• Observing and monitoring for PMADS (postpartum mood disorders and anxiety)

• Setting up a tracking app or notebook to record daily details

• Detailed chart of day's activities if requested

• Expert guidance and tips on newborn care (swaddling practice, baby-wearing, burping, bathing and hygiene, diapering, sleep safety, umbilical cord care, paced bottle feeding, reducing gas and reflux, taking temperature, and more)

• Tummy time for the baby to develop strength and promote motor skills

• Infant massage eduction

• Non-judgmental advice and education tailored to your family’s needs

• Evidence-based information and personalized resources, including written instructions and additional materials 

• Referrals for other care (IBCLC, Pelvic Floor therapist, parenting groups, family therapy, etc)

If booked before the baby arrives, this package includes:

​

• Registry consultation

• Individualized postpartum care plan

• 1-hour “lay of the land” visit, during which we can get to know each other and ensure that both you and your home are ready to welcome your baby

• Basic Newborn education during your visit

• Prenatal lactation consulation
